Day 1: Paris

Each night or throughout the day while on vacation I would jot down a few thoughts about what we got up to during the day. I kind of want to leave my quick thoughts exactly as I recorded them. I have a post and about 4 million pictures (not all of them are great, but it's what we experienced) for every day we were in Europe so feel free to read and look at whatever may interest you.

Day 1: Paris

Traveled all night on Lufthansa airlines. Really sick upon landing in Paris. Posh hotel! Gold everywhere, fancy bathroom, napped for two hours. Walked through Place Vendome (big tower) and the park near the Louvre. Eiffel tower!!! Nice walk across love lock bridge and through the streets of Paris. Surprise! There's the tower! Seriously mind blowing, totally in awe. Sun sets behind the tower, sitting in the grass. Crepes and sitting on the steps of the Trocadero with the lights flashing. Completely unbelievable, how is it that I'm really here!?

Walking through the city to find that tower! I kept thinking we were getting closer but it was much farther away than we thought.

Une Fête pour le Bébé

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with some wonderful ladies to throw a French themed brunch for one of our friends who is expecting her first baby in June. The food was delicious, the company was great and all the tiny clothes and blankets meant there was lots of squealing and excitement.

I know this event was supposed to be all about the baby but let's be honest, it was all about the food! The host of the party made eclairs, pan au chocolate, vanilla cupcakes with raspberry sauce and frosting, chocolate cupcakes with chocolate ganache and raspberry frosting. We had lavender lemonade, French cheeses with French bread and chocolate dipped strawberries. It was heaven!

Babies in stripes are irresistible amiright?

This lady is one of the most gracious women I have ever know. There is just something so sophisticated and refined about her. It has been such an inspiring experience getting to know her and her soon to be expanding little family.

Congrats Joanne! Your new little girl is so lucky to have you for her mom!

Crochet Attention Deficit Dis... oh look, a new crochet hook

I ordered about 30 balls of bright, inspiring yarn colors in the mail about a month ago.

Since then I have not finished a single project.

Why?

Because with names like Saffron, Aster, Lipstick, Fiesta, Fondant, Mocha and Meadow it's total overload for my brain. Who can resist such ostentatious shades! Mix that with my overflowing Pinterest board devoted all things crochet and I have a whole lot of half finished projects.

And let's not even talk about how I still haven't finished this one:

I went to the craft store the other day determined to walk out with only the 6 sheets of paper I needed but somehow I left with another ball of yarn and a shiny new crochet hook. I have at least two other blankets planned and ready to go. The yarn is just sitting in it's neat little pile waiting for me to pick up a hook and start a flashy new design.

So, which project should I knuckle down and finish first? Should I give in to my Crochet ADD and start a new one? Leave your vote in the comments.
