Cinque Terre - Vernazza {Italy 2017}

After our time in Florence - which was way too short - we headed out to the west coast of Italy, to the Cinque Terre. This is a place neither of us had heard or knew much about before we started planning our trip. Our friend Luca (who's parent's we saw in Florence) told us about it when we were asking him places we shouldn't miss. We were instantly intrigued and added it to our itinerary.

Christopher loved the travel we did by train. He has a lot more freedom to move and wiggle around than when we fly or drive. He and his new horse (named Firenze) and his cow (named Franco) had a great time watching the countryside whiz by. I really think travelling by train is one of my favorite modes of transport.

The first order of business when we got to Vernazza was to get gelato. Okay, I will admit, that was our first order of business every day in Italy.

After dropping off our bags and the stroller at the AirBNB we headed up the tiny, winding streets to get some views of the ocean and surrounding village. There are five small villages built into the cliffs above the glittering turquoise sea and I just can't get over how beautiful and charming they were!

The little apartment we rented was about 100 feet from the spot we're sitting here for dinner. It was right in the heart of it and while that did make it a bit louder in the evenings and early mornings, you really couldn't beat the location!

Another thing I was so proud of Topher for on this trip was his patience with eating out every meal. He learned to drink out of glass cups and didn't break a single dish the whole trip. He had pasta pomodoro almost every night and would chow down. He is the cutest little travel companion!
